Im no small engine 2 stroke guru, but ive tuned and raced 2S motocross for over 30 years. Generally speaking with an "open stinger" type exhaust you achieve max rpm flow and hp at the expense of lost low to midrange throttle response. Adversly adding a silencer adds low to mid torque at the expense of a slight loss in max rpm hp. Im in the opinion of for a typical non racing recreational bash truck/buggy its better to tune for midrange torque rather than max rpms.
