going over my vids from today and i noticed that with my tt when its cold or just started it jumps out of the hole with no lag and stays like that for about 5 minutes then slowly starts to lag on the bottom till the pipe kicks in. i checked the plug and it seems just fine. light brown. but the low end lag gets worse as it goes on. but it screams on the top end. maybe its too lean on the low side? or is it "slighty" too lean on the high side cousing low end lag?? hmm..

Hows the idle when it's cold and how is it after 5 minutes of running (hot)?

sounds the opposite... i would guess you need to lean it out just a notch if it works when cold... and if not when warm it usually means it has to be leaned a touch.... but thats just how i usually go and tune em...

then again if it gets worse go opposite way.. these engines are actually pretty easy to tune... atleast compared to nitro ones haha... but usually its more troublesome to get the highspeed to be perfect than lowspeed atleast for me... main thing is to first get a great idle set for it the low speed needle first... after that is done then the high speed.. thats how i always do it

Also, I would like to say that everytime I break and engine in I usually go fairly rich. Rich enough where it's smoking pretty good when giving it throttle off idle. Now when the engine is cold it dam near wants to die out when you give it gas. After the engine heats up it will run but with poor acceleration. Your problem is the opposite leading me to believe it's lean.

Ya I do that also. I usually richen the lowend untill it starts to want to die, remember the location, then lean it untill the idle goes up, then set it 1/2 way in between or right under where the idle starts to raise. Typically that's about 1/8th of a turn leaner from where the engine starts to bog from being rich.

mine was doing the same thing when i was setting my carb up so i richened it up a touch on the high end, plug is still choco brown. Also get the same when the extended stinger on mine falls off. I also usually run a touch rich on the L needle as well as it hits harder off the line...it will hesitate for about 1/2 second then goes like hell, i found a touch leaner on the L and it lags just a tiny bit.

What carb you got kryp...I'm using the 813, which is no harder to tune than the 668, it helps off the line too cos off the accelerator pump

go as rich as you can on the bottom, and turn the idle screw up, then lean it a bit
will this help on the low end? it feels like it just needs more fuel on the low side, but i always wind up leaning it out.. i'll try this tomorrow and see. it did the same thing the last time i ran as well.. good for 5minutes then low end lag..
