ok i have a baja 5sc an it is tuned perfect....just screams so i know how to tune.....but,out of the box with this new rampage mt i set the high at 1 1/2 turns out an the low at 1 1/4 out...well... it wouldnt idle with the low out that far...after a couple of tanks i sarted doing some tuning...the high speed is set perfect...but, still have problems with the low speed...checked for any leaks there are none...after many attemps with the low speed an the idle i can get it to barely idle with the idle screw all the way in and the low speed about 3/4 out...even though i'm getting good smoke out of the pipe...it smells hot...could it be getting hot from the clutch bogging it down so much...cuz this truck is a dog..gonna have to get a pipe asap...it barely gets out of its own way in the grass...any suggestions?

What type of pipe does it have?
What filter is on it? Was it oiled?
Is the choke stuck closed?
Are you sure the H is the H and the L is the L?

everything is bone stock... choke is working...high screw is towards the front of the truck low is closest to the motor...ive seen 23cc run better than this thing...

When you bottom out the L screw, is the spring holding it up, or is it bottoming out completely?

bottom out completely...and where the setting is at now is around 3/4 out...that seems very lean to me...don't have any bogs or hesitations and WOT seems good..just seems very doggish at a hard take off... it did not want to build any rpms in the lawn...while playin in the lawn cuz i had it hammered the whole time trying to get some rpm's it started smelling hot...i'm kinda wondering if it is really a 30cc motor in it...the sticker said so but man thing thing has no power an i seen some on youtube with the 23cc in them that would smoke this thing...

What color is the spark plug? Is it dark or light?
THis seems like the second one that needs the idle screw all the way in to run. Weird.

it is perfect coco color...i don't know man it don't seem right to me...ive seen other video's bone stock that run harder then this thing...i know the can"exhaust" is WAY small...but, i swear the clutch is engaging around 3000...and it is just plain weak..thoughts?

the stock exhaust does leak at the seams hwere it pressed together...may that is affecting back pressure...i wqas thinking maybe a blown lower seal...but not seeing any dripage...idk..maybe a new pipe and a 8000 rpm spring will wake it up...

Its definetly a weak spring. Its talked about quite a bit. If its letting the engagement of the clutch too soon/fast it will definitely bog it down. Especially with 4wd. Change that out and get yourself a good tuned pipe for it.
On the back pressure and leakage:
There is no need for that type of back pressure and really you get more HP from a motor without the stock can then with it. Just a bit dangerous to run one without.;)
What is the size of the exhaust pipe coming out of the can? If it has anything attached to it like the Baja's do, take it off. Leakage is common on all the stock cans.
I ended up making a bigger hole and putting a bigger pipe on my old stock can and it made a big difference. Then again I pretty much just made a Xcan out of it.:D

From the box it came with a tube that runs out the back.. i didn't think that the leaky seams would be a big deal, just a thought. what are your thoughts on a stock HPI exhaust.. it's supposed to be high flow. thanks.

ok so i think i found the problem...i yanked the motor...pulled the carb for shits and giggles...and BAM...the whole lower part of the carb gasket was soaked...on both gaskets...front an rear...so that takes care of the tuning problem....think i'm gonna check the whole motor...since its out.....

i did a leak test with some wd40 and nothing...but i yanked the carb anyways an this is what i found...all 3 where leaking:eek: !!! thank god i checked... i wasnt even going to check the intake but figured what the hell.. all screws where finger tight.. so for everyone who get a MT check em..if they are loose throw some spray gasket on your gaskets..these had none..i use the spray copper gasket on everything it works great

seems like they where somewhat tight....there where no tears just wet...so i'm towel them off let them air out for alittle bit then sprayed them with copper gasket an re-installed them...with some locktite...see if that will help...might need to order new ones...
