Bought a new door for the living room the other day,six panelled bevelled glass and two paneled wood,solid unknotted New Zealand pine with mahogony inserts and belive me it wasn't a cheapy you buy from B+Q!(for our American friends B+Q is a multimillion pound DIY company that sell shite)
So today I started to hang it knowing that if I messed up divorce papers would be on the table with my dinner!
All was going well and then jacko called,good excuse for a cuppa.Jacko gave me a hand and the door went on and off and on and off......untill it was just right.....well apart from it just touched the floor when fully open!So off it came again,planed and back on....and off....more planing and on(the mahogany inserts were a mother to plane,they were like steel.) After another hour of this Jacko had to go because he was on nights,but before he went my missus said" why don't you use your new electric sander you bought":blush::blush::blush: Forgot all about it:blush:. Thinking of getting my MT on the road. 5 mins later it was on and sorted.
Might be in for an early night tonight:kiss:

Same down hare pab, manage to pay the morgage and play with my toys, so im happy, and still have a job, but not alot of work about at mo so doing some privates in the meantime. Whats work like uo there mate?
 
Those doors can be a pain in the arse!!!!

I had a power planer when i did mine and it still took me forever and a day.

yea privates are good, we been fitting a lot of rock doors for a firm in liverpool, but there price,s are crap was going to start for safestyle but there fitters work from 7am till 7pm , think ive had it to easy in the past:clown::clown::clown:
 
Rock doors are too pricy for what they are we tend to fit the homesafe door wicth looks the same and half the price..

I fit on day rate now, since i started with this firm a couple of years ago and work 8 till 5, took a bit of getting used to as i used to get home at 3 at the latest really and still took home more than i do now but least i know where i am each week and have no strees if something goes wrong on the job...

yea rock doors over rated ,but up here theres been a lot of upvc doors getting the panels kicked out to nick peoples plasma tellys ,when i do my own jobs i get synseal compi doors and way cheaper than rock doors,
 
Now after thinking about this. Did your wife put you up to the new door? Only ask because you put in a door that is really hard to just kick in if your locked out. :laugh:
