Hey Guys,

Just recently purchased a drill starter from Large Scale RC - 3402 - Drill Starter for CY or Zenoah Motors - By GTB Racing - and installed in on my XT. Would there be any reason why it would not work? I believe the HY and CY engine parts are interchangeable.

Thanks,

City

It sounds like its going to start. I was thinking that it would possibly need a new spark plug. I have never replaced the plug and I've had the XT for roughly 2-21/2 years. Could you recommend the right plug?

HOLY COW...u got 2 1/2 years out of the original plug.I think i got 2 tanks out of mine..lol...

How is that drill start working for you. I've got one and I'm about ready to send it sailing. I've destroyed 3 flywheels.

We think what happens is when the engine starts, the flywheel rips around and bashes into the back of the drill start and breaks the ear off the flywheel. Now you have this chunk of aluminum bouncing around in the fan shroud breaking things.

It never has broken both ears, but the second ear has a notch on it after it happens.

I've had it on my 26 cc CY and my 30.5 HY.

look into the new drill starter that kent keller has to offer at KILLER RC, much better design!
Wow that does look better. I may have to get one of those down here. Kent makes awesome toys. :D

It really is simple and works great. The others are all over engineered and still don't last. I can't believe it took as long as it did before it was produced. I guess it was the Troybuilt drill adapter that sparked the idea.
