how do you all do? i was running my rovan baja buggy (26cc) the other day and lost a drive shaft pin... i cant seem to find just the pins for these drive shafts, but did find the hpi baja 5bss HD drive shafts on ebay for $25 delivered to my door... so this is a 2 part question... should i leave the rovan drive shafts in and find the pins or just get the hpi HD drive shafts that do not have the set screw/pin feature??? DO THE HPI DRIVE SHAFTS EVEN FIT IN THE ROVAN??? any info would be much appreciated... HAIL LSF... :w00t:

If I were you I'd keep the Rovan and spend the $600 you saved on upgrades as you need them. You would have bought those upgrades for the HPI anyway.

As for the driveshafts there are many upgrades available on DDM and they should all fit. I say "should" because there are some minor differences between the HPI cars and the clones so you really won't know for sure until you compare them to the HPI parts. Please let me know how it goes because I'm compiling an interchangeable parts list to make things easier for us clone owners.

lol

to tell you the truth. i would never sell my rovan... lol... i am no label whore... lol i asked a question about the drive shafts in the OTHER MANUFACTURERS for a reason.. so i would not have to hear from an hpi fan boy.... question, do you sit at home in your room wit your wanker in your hand waiting to get up on your soap box and tell people what we should have done cause you for some reason know better??? i did everything to my baja that you, hpi fan boy, did to yours to even run it... why don't you read my post in the introduction and you will see everything i did to my beauty even before she was started once... and guess what??? i still have enough left over to put a new motor in her and rpm arms all the way around... (and take the wifey out for a nice dinner so she wont complain about the money i spent)... my rovan has a tampon swinging from the rear ,like a pair of fuzzy dice, for all of you hpi fan boys that want to say what you do. this way you can plug up your bleeding gashes... i run wit 2 guys who have the hpi 5t and 5b... guess what??? same chit... different stink.... they are blown away and feel foolish for spending what they did... but hey, to each is their own. they run wit me. don't judge me. and i have broke nothing yet except for a pullstart and lost one drive shaft pin... wow... what a loss... lol lol but this is all been said. nothing new. just another fan boy upset wit his life's choices and being charged double for the almost same product... lol

quick, thank you for the info... yeah, i am do my shopping at ddm and tulare mostly... was mostly just curious about if the baja 5bss shafts would fit. my rovan has the 9mm drive shafts... i guess for $25 shipped, if they don't work out i can alway fleabay them... i have read so many mixed reviews ont the ds ones.. the blur ones look nice but have not seen to many reviews on them... i will order up the drive shafts tonight and when i get them in i will be sure to let you know... also quick, i am sure most people have done what i have to mine, but if you look at my introduction post you will see what i did and what worked.. i can say the 5t spark plug protector/carry handle, i had to trim the rollcage a lil for it to fit.. but other then that, everything has fit and worked like a charm... sorry for so much babble, but the fan boy got me... this is not even close to a HPI section... lol oh well... i guess a troll is a troll is a troll...

Its not about labels its about buying something that will hold together unlike (clones)

Yes hpi drive shafts will fit your rovan but caution they may out last your rovan baja

There's no substitute for a real Hpi

That's is such a bunch of BS. Go look on the OZ forums. There are a ton of guys who own the clones and the only problems you ever hear them complain about are the exact same problems that the HPI guys have. The difference is their upgrades cost them nothing because the car was half price.

Here is a great example, a few weeks back I stripped the stock spur gear. Do a search on the hpibajaforums site and you'll find dozens of HPI guy who did the exact same thing. Difference? The Hostile spur cost them $10. It cost me nothing. I could buy all the TR upgrades and a ported head kit and still be in the black.

Just because you feel stupid for paying 100% more for the same car is no reason to trash another person's car.

Dude iv heard this rambling many times before i agree the clones are much cheaper but please don't compare them to hpi because they ain't the same and never will be...... different motors, plastics, metals, electrics and this why they are cheaper its got nothing to do with brands

i have owed clones before so i should know

Whatever. I've heard that same story time and time again. Everyone who bashes them has either "owned" a clone or "knows somebody" who has owned one yet for some reason those of us who actually do own them have none of the problems the fan boys claim to have heard of. What a shock.

Maybe they do have lower quality plastics. I haven't experienced any problems but may they used cheaper plastics. Doesn't really matter though because with the money I saved I could easily buy the RPM arms and whatever else I need. Besides that I would upgraded those parts at some point even if it was an HPI. Dollar saved, dollar earned.

And don't even mention the motors. The FACT is that the HPI motor is a cheap Chinese clone of the Japanese made Zenoah. So much for having superior equipment.

lol

i cant help but laugh... you guys just are amazing... but i guess if i paid double for nothing more then "better plastics" i would be acting the same way... besides the motor and some odds and ends, everything else get changed out pretty much from the get go... so if "better plastics" are worth $600+ to you... well then you are just hilarious.... hilariously hilarious.....
outaluck, thank you for the info... just snatched them up off of fleabay for the $25 shipped wit new boots. this way i will keep the rovan ones as a back up if need be... thank you again...

got a set of hpi drive shafts...

so i just recieved my hpi 5bss drive shafts and all i can say is that i will be keeping these as a back up.... lol i got em really cheap so i don't mind so much, but my rovan drive shafts are 9mm... these hpi's are quite a bit smaller.... plus i have read that the hpi guys twist and break these ones... but have not read about anyone really doing that to the rovan ones... thank god Danlc4 hooked me up wit some new pins for my shafts so i don't have to really worry about putting these lil hpi ones in... lol IRONIC, don't you think???
