I have been asked to look into making a dual servo kit for MT's I'm sure I could do it but.... I don't own one and the only way to do is to fit the servos to the truck.

1. Is there really a need for something like this?

2. Does anyone have one they could loan me? It could be a complete POS,

it dosn't matter.

3. What servo would you want to use??

I thought I have double steering?

I went and checked my NEW MT V3(3 days old) again after reading this.Coz' all this time I thought I have double steering on this truck? what the f***?! I'm looking at it right now while typing this post. It looks like 2 steering servos? one just below what appears to be a throttle servo?, it appears like 2 steering linkages on both sides each connected to a big servo? SO I MUST HAVE DOUBLE STEERING THEN?!! YAAAAYYYYY!!! :D I got 2 steering servos!!! YIIIIPEEE !!!!HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! :Dhehehe Ok...OK...I'll chill about the servos... I'm cool!!hahaha

you're right!!

I don't think it's necessary. One really good servo should do the job just fine.
Good point Deluge. But 2 steering servos, one for each wheel, equates to not putting too much load on the servos, even if you have one of those pricey "hitech 775s'?" and somewhat countreract that "laws of gravity" So to those who decided and said "let's slap 2 steering servos on this BAD BOY just for the hell of it" AND SO...THEY DID, WE... the proud owners of your product, Thank you and Sir Isaac Newton thanks you too!! :D

You'll still put a load on the servos. No two servos are exactly alike. They'll constantly fight each other, which will add to the load. Dual servos also drain your receiver pack faster. You don't gain durability by running two servos. You're running two servos because alone, they're weak, but when you put them together they do a decent job. Running one high quality, high torque servo will do a better job than two underpowered servos, and it's more durable and efficient.

Also, a dual servo setup will cost you more.

Dual 5755's = $175

Dual stock replacements = $170

One 5805 = $79

If nothing else, the rx pack will run down quicker. The linkages between the two servos has to be right on and yes, if one servo is slightly slower, it will drag the other one down. In that case you can not get double the power. Its just not as efficient as one quality one. If I had duals, I would run them until one dies and then switch to single. You would never find me seeking out a dual conversion, even if it was free. Its more money for parts, more weight to drag around, more to break, more of a drain on your RX battery, and higher amperage draw through your RX reducing its useful life.

i know bout this first hand. i had two on my mt. one servo went out then it caused the other one to strip its gears. so i had no servos. i just went with a single 5755 hitec. and now theres no loud grinding noise from them not doing the same thing. it really feels like a strong servo and no grinding noise. i would say less maintenance to and less power consumption. im satisfied with one.

originally i wanted dual stearing, but then I found that there was alot of friction in my balljoints that gave alot of resistance so my XB didn't stear as well as it should, when I removed the friction all was good and 4 tanks l8r, it's still all good with my sanwa 29kg servo. so no need for dual stearing
