Looking to find a canopy/hatch for a Dumas Scarab 45. I don't have the original seats/instruments that comes with the hull, but am thinking if I can find one from another boat that would work, or could be modified to work...would save me from having to try to make one...the dimensions I would need to try to match are 8 1/4" X 17 1/4". If anyone knows of a canopy/hatch that might meet these dimensions, please let me know. The problem I keep running into, is that they are normally listed by model of boat without measurements. Thanks in advance!

Wow, I kinda suck...sorry Atom...I've been so busy working on other guys' kits, I haven't really had any time to work on this project. The boat is vintage in the fact that it's from the early/mid '80s...lol...which of course makes me "more vintage".

This is how it came to me...my wife's great uncle used it to herd geese off retention ponds to be relocated...lol...he got it from another service in NJ.

It came as a "kit" or RTR from Dumas with a 22cc MacCulloch engine

I pretty much just cleaned it up, installed a new RX/TX, and got a new 470 prop for it...shaft greased etc...it's a surface piercing with an inline rudder.

Finally going to dust this beast off...I had ordered a lot of parts for it a few months back and like so many other projects, it ended up sitting with a bunch of new parts, new engine, radio, batteries, pipe, etc etc just sitting in the shipping boxes on a shelf with the boat. I keep thinking I am going to try to will spring into coming sooner by working on warm weather project. I will just use this as my "build thread" and hope you boat guys out there can add some much needed advice as I progress.

I will throw some pictures up as I start to get everything organized on the project table. Right now I will just give the basics:

I have a new CY 27cc water cooled engine with clutch, water pump, offset rudder outdrive (surface piercing), new sealed radio box, a variety of standard and 1/5 or 1/4 scale servos, marine ply for making stringer, new fuel cell, turn fins, trim tabs, new 1/4" flex cable, red/green nav lights, and a few other items that I'm planning on using to fabricate a fiberglass hatch for it.
