dumb ddm dom question

What's the screw in the front end of the dom side mount pipe for.

I wondered the same thing... in the very end of my pipe's expansion chamber, is a screw... I was too scared to take it out... but it's made me wonder.

That's new to me I didn't know it had one. That most likely is going to be a drain. If you look at how the pipe sits when mounted the tip would collect moisture and oil. You could remove the screw to drain it out.

Yep it's to drain the excess oil. I had to put some RTV sealant on that screw when I first got it because I found that it was spitting oil on the front a-arm while running.

Well that's good to know... I probably would have a pipe FULL of oil before I realized it...

So- now that I have admitted that I am still an RC Rookie... how's your day going? ha ah ha

If the pipe is on during break in or any time your running rich, you will get quite a bit of oil in it.

If I remember correctly, it's to help make the chroming process easier. Could use it to clean the pipe, though.

Do the black versions not come with the screw?

They do. But I'm sure they're all made the same and then separated by which finish they'll get.
