dune runner (loose choke)

hi im john and am new to the forum i own a stock d.r. w/ an x-can and only two gallons of gas thru it and the choke keeps falling to choke i am currently using a piece of black tape to hold it open. any suggestions besides buying a new carb? im saving for a 30.5 and carb for x-mas for myself

You could take the choke plate off.

I had the same issue with my XB's stock carb...the ball bearing and or the spring for the detent is probably missing. I just used a zip tie to hold the choke open until I fixed the carb. Bad QC on those carbs, IMO...
