Hey all,

I was wondering if this had been discussed, any ups, downs, pro's and con's.

I am looking at getting another family member a Buggy for Christmas, yet he does not have the best access to a hobby shop and I thought Duratrax and the Stress-Tech Guarantee would be best suited to him.

Please share your experiences or point me towards the previous posts if any.

I have had the best experience with the support and parts replacement even after my buggy was out of warranty. If a part was bought and broke strangely enough to think it was a part failure I sent it in they replaced it for "Customer Satisfaction".
I lost the plug int he gas tank and emailed them about it. They sent me one since it was not available on line - For free.
 
Yup.... My fuel tank also leaked at the seam..I replaced the whole fuel system with some thing different....AKASlawhammer
 
Did you fit an FG tank or from another manufacturer? Did you deal with the customer service ? I am just trying to avoid the trouble spots for now before I get the Chassis for my Cousin.
 
My son's got me a firehammer from e-bay ..so it was abused and was more than 1 year old
so customer service was not used...I understand there good to the brand new purchase..
I went with a Fg style tank..Zenoah...But you have to get a bracket kit for the tank..
DDM has both Tank & bracket...Will mount in same holes in chassie...But I move the tank to the right by 10mm's for new holes drilled in chassie...The gas cap wanted to rub on the roll cage post..I have a small project about my firehammer in the XTM/Firehammer section in this forum....AKASlawhammer
 
I never had one leak. I heard about a shipment and a time when a lot of people where having leakage. That was quite a while ago. I think when the tank went through the melting of both halves together they did not let it heat long enough and the plastic cold welded. I have not heard about the issue for some time. They will cover that problem if it happens even though a tank is only $7.00.
