keeps taking in dust on a sandy track, and chokes the carb, need help with what other thing i can do to help carb from clogging from dust.
 
What filter are you running in what? Dust and dirt getting in the carb is going to mess up your motor if it has not all ready. I have run in very dusty conditions before and never got anything in my motor or carb. I seal the ends of my filter where the meet the housing with grease.

Same here bud, there are only a few places where dust can get into your engine though and this is 1 of them..

Raj, make sure you clean your filter after every outting and oil the filter up properly, i also cut a small piece off the end of an old drive shaft boot and place it on the Throttle shaft on the carb, this will help with any small particles from entering the carb along the shaft..
 
As far as the team chase diaphragm filter the only way dirt can get in to the carb or motor is if the diaphragm was busted then the engine would not run properly if at all. The diaphragm filters is just protects the diaphragm. Not saying it is a bad idea but for what it cost you can buy many a diaphragm. So far I have never had one to fail.

This is what it says on the DDM listing.

[Carb Diaphragm Filter : When racing or just bashing in dirt or sandy conditions the metering diaphragm will collect dirt, sand and dust. The filter is designed to keep the carburetor metering diaphragm clean and reduce the need of cleaning or replacement.]
 
well i put grease at the ends of the filter housing and put another filter over the original the 5b outer filter i have cleaned the motor carb and am going to start it lets c what happens.
 
+1 Team Chase Carb Diaphragm Filter, outerwears prefilter, and plenty of air filter oil
 
i've found with bulldust that outerwears don't do much...my track in the summer was so bad that after 5mins of several cars running round, 1 we couldn't see and 2 the filters were clogged solid and choking the motors..hpi inner and outer and i had an outerwears on my pyrad but it still clogged as quick as the nutech without. they work great for bigger stuff and mud but i found they let in fine bulldust dust. we had to quit in the end
the only thing i've found that works is watering the track:rolleyes:

well if its a club track maybe they should water it first , cause you can only do so much to prevent dust and whatever from entering your engine
