Just got a 1/16 E Revo. I was very skeptical but that thing is fast and handles well! 30+ mph on 1200 2/3 6cell! It wheelies forward and backward on the stock 1200. Very fast too. I already ordered a new body, bumpers, alum tie rods, + alum toe links. Im building batts with bars now and deciding if I should run 2 packs in series or paralell, lipo or NIMH, and what gearing. If you can get your hands on one drive it. I was VERY surprised!

I'm thinking about getting one of these this summer. I need something quiet in the neighborhood that has some speed. Post some pics when you have a chance.

It jumps like a 1/8 but only 20-25ft instead of 30-40ft off of jumps. The Traxxas videos actually do not do it justice. I drove it through puddles and mud too, waterproof! My only complaint so far is when im at about 25mph and floor it it wanders only to be correccted by steering but that could be a differntial tuning prob. I am changing the diff fluid, shock fluid and getting stiffer springs. 12mm hexes will make touring car foam tires possible supposedly. I figure with the weight savings over the stock tires I should be able to bump top speed to 55mph vs 50mph. Might be cool also w/1/10 drift tires. I want the fluid center diff, and alum shock bodies but thats about it. I already have a 1/16 slash body with bumpers coming, and some more batts. Batts last me about 7-10 minutes on one 6cell 1200mah 2/3a but they can bewired 2 in parallell for double the runtime (or 2 in series for double the votage). I made some vids but cant figure it out.Does anyone know how to get 3gp videos on here? Or gopro vids? Any vids? What do I need to do?

hamster, love the 16th brushless revo/slash, very cool. glad to hear the good words on performance. i've got 2 3905 e-maxx's, all rpm and was about to go brushless till 2 pampigs took over my rc world. now 1 maxx is my 6 yr olds and the other sits for now. but looking strongly at your 1/16th revo and thinking it looks like fun. keep the pics/vid's comming and let us know how it holds up and what mods you do.

I got the slash version. I made up 2 sets of connectors, 1 series, 1 parallel. Also got another battery. I love this thing.... Id rather have the revo version though, this thing loves to roll.

Ive had most rc cars you can think of. Im not into traxxas because by the time you build a strong bullet proof brushless emaxx/revo/rustler/bandit/stampede/slash/slayer you could have an bl 8ight/t4/sc8 that runs cirlces around any traxxas for the same or less $. So I am suprised I like the 1/16 revo. I like it more than vendetta/mini inferno/crt.5/mini t/etc. However today I blew the shock caps off and they are all slwoly leaking. Why do all traxas models have probs w/stock shock caps? Chucked how do you like running in series? What batts did you use and was top speed scary?

Its extremely uncontrollable in a series. I'm using a traxxas battery and an LRP racing battery. It has an extreme amount of body roll and at high speed steering is way too touchy. Once I put in my 3pm and fix up the expo it will be good. You are right about traxxas shock caps, hopefully some aluminum ones will be out soon

I'm happy to hear you guys like yours I love mine but it broken for a while now :( Try what I did and series two 2s lipos in there and watch the speed climb into the 60+ range:D But be careful, the sudden stops tend to break things like the chassis, bulkheads, a-arms, etc etc... and then there back order for a month.

I am parting one out on ebay right now if you need parts. I used and abused mine to the point I wore some stuff out and I couldnt get parts either so I bought a 3rd one just for parts and put what I didnt need on ebay. So now I have 2 running Erevo VXL and some parts. The steering will hold better if you do a dual servo setup. If you want the lipos everyone is selling on ebay but you want the discount price check out hobbycity.com for 2s and 3s 1000-2200mah! I got 4 2s and chargers for $110 shipped. People are selling the same thing on ebay for $200+! They arent making much $ on that though because ebay/paypal generally get over 10% and then shipping comes out of the $200+ too. I am waiting to get 2 packs of hobbycity 3s to run parallel to go 60+ on touring car foams (according to maxamps). Everyone says 4s is too much voltage. Did yours get super hot?

Everyone is an idiot, if you can run 12 nimh cells at 14.4 volt (nearly 21 volts charged) then why can't you run 4S lipos at 14.8 volts (16.8 charged????) Mine with the smaller included pinion and 4s ran warm at 132 degrees esc and 144 on the motor. Also 1/10 buggy rear tires make one heck of an improvement on these also.

Second I need a chassis and also the front bulkheads, do you have those and what would they cost?

Third instead of dual servos just replace the servo with a Hitec Mighty Mini.

Supposedly the ESC has different voltage limits for lipo (12.6v) than nimh (18v) and things start to fry at 20v. I believe the reason for the different limits is that lipo can provide way more current than nimh (even if voltage was the same). Generally one 1200 2/3a 6cell nimh can only provide 15c which is 18 amps but one 2s 2200 20c lipo can provide 44amps. Also the esc has no 4s cutoff. I have seen vids of 4s in it but it supposedly got really hot but as you said you can relieve the motors amp draw with gearing, changing to lightweight foam tire, or changing from NIMH to LIPO. The 2s 20c 2200 lipo can provide 44 amps so if the motors asks for less it gets less and if the motor asks for more the battery overheats. Same story with ESCs if the motor tries to pull more amps through the esc than it can provide it overheats. Oh yeah my chassis and front end sold but check on ebay to see my other parts. Maybe someone else has what you need. Type "E Revo vxl" into the search and you will see what myself and others are selling. If you use one servo the arm has a bit of flex one way due to the design and the servo saver but if you use 2 servos it holds both sides of the T shaped servo arm stiffer.
