ear plugs in drive cups

What does the ear plug do in the diff drive cup? Do you put half of an ear plug in the diff drive cup and the wheel cup?
 
It keeps the dogbones centered so less chance of binding resulting in broken cups. Use enough of the plug to keep them centered and still be able to move with slight resistance.
 
just what jockey said, don't put too much in couse it will limit suspension travelbut here is a pic

I had a o-ring set there were enough in there to do my cups. I stacked 2 o-rings in each cup and added some grease and a HPI dog bone boot. Works perfect for me. No disrespect, but I don't like the idea of the earplugs.
 
i think the o-rings is a better idea, but i just haven't had enough to do all 16.. its harder to get them all excactly the same size with earplug foam
 
thanks fellas I will try it out. Also I am not running phat dads. I am running HPI complete fronts in the rear and stock rear rampage casings with hpi front inserts up front. I read recently there is a drooping problem and this might be causing it.
