That car new retailed for less than $1,500 us and he wants 3,330 euros for a second hand one.

Am I missing something?

I think there's an extra '0' added to it.
TRUE, it is quite a desirable piece of kit, but it's still basic - front alloy hubs and cable brakes notwithstanding.

I just HOPE that 'Tamiya Illness' isn't going to afflict our hobby.

By 'Tamiya Illness', I do not mean that people purchase them - I LOVE THEIR DETAIL.
I mean that there's a certain minority, I HOPE, out there that appear to purchase, hold onto, or locate by whatever means, old, complete and original Tamiya kits, then sell them on for 10x their original purchase price.

Examples are of old TL-01 or older kits originally sold for perhaps £110-150 now being sold for upwards of £750 !!

PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO LARGESCALE!!

What is true is the sale price is quite simply 'what the purchaser is prepared to pay', and if some poor bugger is willing to pay way over the odds, then this massive inflation will occur.

True Al.I have just missed out on a Schumacher "Big Six" Lotus Elise in excellent un-run condition.missed it by a fiver:mad:And an original Tamiya Ranger 1981 model not the re-release.So I bought a Merv and a Slash instead:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Castle Creations Mamba Monster Maxx ESC - take up to 6S - hooked up to a 36mm diameter (same as TAMIYA Mabuchi diameter) x 65mm (LONGER than a Titan) .....
INTO ..... my MERV !!!

Won't happen for another month or so, waiting for parts.
I'm going for a ~3200kV motor that takes up to 3S, so I continue with the standard 3S in series set-up of the MERV.

Gearing?
I'll just play with pinions and spurs.
SPEED - anticipated to be plain stupid - perhaps faster than the Mental Maxx!!
Transmission life expectancy - not long!!
Al.
