hi guys :)

i was about to order a set of elcon alloy lower wishbones (adjustable)

but theres a Left side & a right side, but the left side is out of stock! ...but ive looked at them & they look the same for both sides? could i just order 2 of the same side (right) & use 1 of them for the left side? only difference i think will be the nuts will be at the top instead of the bottom on the left side? or is there more to it?

Any ideas guys :s ?
 
I am not familiar with that car but I checked the link you posted and I doubt you could get it to work. It looks like when mounted your wheels will be offset either a little further back or forward. I don't know why more cars are not made symmetrical. I just made a set of ride height adjustments for one race team to correct that. Now they have one that can be used on either right or left side!
 
the adjustable wishbones are handed because of the toe adjuster but they could be used either side
i e'mailed them 2 weeks ago and they said 5 weeks before they have them in again
i went with the one piece XL version
this is a friends after a collision with a Baja

i was looking at the XL ones at first, almost ordered them until i noticed the XL drive shafts are ball dirve! :(

means i would have to change all my drive to ball drive so that be about another £70! so all in all would cost me about £200! ..so i passed :(

At present im using alloy wishbones i got from hobbythek but they use the balljoints (i was using the Red coloured MCD ball joints) but i had a little misshap last week, all the balljoints got messed up. I guess my other option is steel ball joints... ive been pricing them up for the rear end cost me about £60 to have all steel ball joints + 50mm track rods instead the standard 32mm as the steel ball joints are slightly smaller in lengeth than the MCD ones on back end so might go with that, looks like i have no choice! lol
 
dog bones are available in longer lengths. I have a set i keep as backup
Ball drive works out cheaper in the long run (i was getting 3 months out of FG dog bones) just replace the balls every couple of months and they are the same size as the balls in the large engine bearing......bonus
i'm using hobby-pro superchief alloy upper arms (longer than the FG arms...and cheaper) and the stock upper turnbuckle with about 3mm of each end. They wind almost all the thread into both arm and rosejoint now rather than the 3- 5mm you normally end up with. I was using KPD wishbones which use the same mounting system. I got fed up with rosejoints and turnbuckles pulling apart and the Elcon system really is fit-n-forget
 
Hi ya mate. Got the adjustable elcons other month second hand from ebay. They are brilliant. Got bloody irritated with fg alloy wishbones even though I had steel rose joints. The whole lot kept cpmin loose and adjustment was fiddly. Now the elcons. 2 bolts each to fit em to chasis. Easy adjustment and way you go. Get em do!
