hi i put a hitec 5745 as my steering servo for my baja 5b and found out that it was turning lesser to the left than the right. so i thought to set the end point of the right and left side. first by setting the end point will i get full left and right turn or not. and when i set it into memory and go into the driving mode it goes back to the default right and left turning point. how do i set this. pls help.
 
Have you 'centred' the servo?
Remove the servo horn, switch on Tx and Rx without touching / adjusting the Tx and the servo should go to it's rest position, if the centring hasn't been changed on the radio.
If the centring has been altered, reset to zero.
Now try to slot on the servo horn to the nearest possible position of the servo splines - normally not possible to get exact.
Now reset the centre position.

Now you can set you end-points - don't force the servo by increasing beyond the point it can turn the wheels as this will obviously damage it.

First get the horn centered as close as you can on the splines. Then set steering trims to 0. Get your steering centered using sub-trim controls, if your radio has that feature. If you use the main trim to try to center your steering then you will loose travel on one side. So learn how to use sub-trim.

Then set EPA on both sides to stop the servo before it travels too far and locks up.
Set your throttle EPA too.
 
Thanx guys. I did center it without the horn. N then by using sub trim. The problem is not centering but trying to get the when turned on both side equally. It turns more to the right n hardly any to the left. I then tried to increase the absinthe in the the servo but as soon as I go to driving mode after I set the endpoint the movement of the servo goes to the default. Any ideas. Thenx once again for posting replys.

Where you center it affects how far it will turn on both sides. Was your trim set at 0 when you set the sub trim?

The only other thing it could be is that your EPA is set too short on one side.
 
If I read this right, you issue is not with the Tx programing but with the internal programing of the servo its self. That is its not holding the parameters you program into it. Yes/No?

If so, and given I have yet to play with one of these, can you (on your PC) read the internal set parameters of the servo or not. It could be that your missing a final command to set your new data into the servo or the memory in the servo is screwed :(

hey there .. If you haven't fixed your problem yet try this .. Zero out your sub trim and center your servo to Zero .. set your servo saver at !:00 clock position on the servo .. then set up your end points .. worked for me . im running a 5B .. hope this helps ya ..
