Hey Guys

I just wanted to let everyone know about the great service that I have received from the guys at Engage RC. I purchased 2 of the DZY Bajas from them about 2 weeks ago and received my cars within 1 week of the order being placed.

When the cars arrived I had a couple of small issues with broken parts. One car had a ball end that was stripped and would not hold a nut and the other had a bad rear shock cap that had broken in half at the threads. Engage was always quick to respond to my emails and have sent the parts out quickly.

I also have to say that I am very pleased with the overall parts quality of the cars as well. The assembly left somthing to be desired, but I took both cars apart and rebuilt them anyway so it really wasnt such a big deal to me. If you purchase one, I highly recommend that you take the time to pull the diff out and fill with diff fluid (also, mine were missing the plugs that seal the diff housing) and grease up the trany gears. You will also want to rebuild the shocks as you already know by reading this thread.

Other than that the overall car is a great deal for the money.

You are lucky. EngageRC seems to be an ass on this and other forums. I've already thrown him off here and HBF.

Really? I haven't had an issue with them. Besides, I kinda figured the cars would have no warranty anyway.

Sorry to hear about the probs.

Hey Guys

I just wanted to let everyone know about the ridiculously awful service that I have received from the guys at Engage RC.

Let me start off by saying I've been in the hobby over a decade, my first job was at a hobby store, and I am currently the "repair guy" at Hobbytown. I have replaced at least one part and driven every rc vehicle Hobbytown has to sell (except, and only except the jr vibe helicopters).

One day, a customer came in, bought a heli, crashed it, and decided he wanted a customers boat I had with me instead. The boat wasn't for sale, so I shopped around for something in the 50ish inch range. When I came across engagerc they seemed to have good prices on all the china boats being sold right now. So, I bought this boat.

The boat I ordered didn't show for 3 weeks, and the tracking said "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" the entire time. I contacted ken from engagerc and was told "The boat is rejected by export custom". ...the tracking EE23 6412 644C N on USPS still says "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" not "The boat is rejected by export custom" as of rght now. (reply if you checked it)

I was also informed that the color I orderd was no longer available and if it would be ok to send "one thin we need your approval is the graphic...we may be lack of choice when it comes to graphic. could you let the graphic on boat be random?" I said no, and asked for my money back.

Ken "Hi Mark, We will get back to you tonight. We can certainly refund you and provide future discount toward any items."

The next day- Me "At this point, I would rather have my money back."

Two days later- Me "What's the status?"

Three days later- ken "Hi, Here is the new tracking number. 3285552255" -DHL

I was assured the boat would be the right color and that I would receive extra props and a rudder for my troubles.

When the boat arrived, it was mangled. The hull was split down both sides from the stern to the forks. The wing supports were bent, the wing bolts were ripped out of their sockets, every hull section has either cracks or scratches in the paint (mostly both), the prop-shaft tube was crushed in to the bottom of the hull, the throttle cable was frayed, the pop-nut is anodized and has the scratches anodized nuts get when they're tightened with a crescent-wrench...which is weird because it's still sealed in the factory packaging, the rudder servo is stripped, the fuel lines are old, brittle and cracking, there is rust on most of the steel hardware. This damage was very obviously caused when it was in a different box because the one it came only had one hole where something came through and hit the right fork. There was a large area on the box where the old premix fuel leaked out of the tank, through the cracked fuel lines and on to the box. ...no extra hardware either.

I contacted ken from engagerc and he apologized for the damage and offered to send me another one at "factory cost". I told him I would contact DHL and se what they have to say.

Here is his offer
"Hi Mark,
Here are the break down of the cost of resending another boat.

1. send boat with out Engine. Safer and lighter, less chance damage during flight.
factory cost. $295
ship cost: 175 (50% 87.5)
total: 382.50
round down to $$360

2. send complete boat with engine (no radio system).
factory cost 350
ship cost 175
total: 437.5
we can round it down to $$410

Please let me know which path you like to go.

thx"

Considering that I paid 399 for the first one, and 98 for the shipping, my mind was made up on the short side of instantly. I told him I'd rather have the money I asked for before he sent me this piece. I am disputing this through paypal and I am going to put a video together for youtube.

I don't know if this is their record, but it's been seven days since non-english speaking "ken" has responded, so...I would have to say in my seasoned opinion, you'd be better off taking the money you'd spend there to the casino and try to double up to get the over-priced name brand gear.

If anyone would like the whole email with pics forwarded, just pm.

Yes i feel where you are comin from same happened to me he told me also that the customs rejected my parts and will resend some times ken is a ok guy but sometimes can be a bit of a git yes ken i said git but you only have yourself to blame any way i don't think it will change cos he only dose it for the money and not for the hobby and thrill of it what a pity because the things they have and the prices are real good just a bad service

what happens to the people who aint, got a clue how to change diff oil shock oil, spur gears, i have done all these and had a kill switch fault and allso no hole in fuel filler cap causing problems all in 2 weeks of owning this model, think dealers selling this model should advise on what can go wrong and probably will.
