I have Rampage XB. 30cc with the stock card. It is only about 2 months old. When I first start it it runs great. Within a couple minutes it starts to bog at full throttle and before. I tried up and down with the needles and no luck. Any ideas on why it starts to bog after it gets warmed up?

Thanks

Yes, The fuel tank is vented. I have tried a fresh mix of fuel, changed the plug. I have spark, compression and fuel. It starts off fine then when warmed up it bogs. After just a couple runs.

Check the breather behind the air filter. A small metal plate with two small screws. ddm part #av493 Also you may want to check the diaphram in you carb. The diaphram passes fuel. There are three types of diaphrams, black it passes the most fuel but wears out the fastest, beige it passes a little less fuel but lasts longer, blue it passes the least amount of fuel but lasts the longest.Hope this helps.

Could also be that knock off carb.......spend the money and buy a walbro.......its a win even if it doesn't fix the problem....
+1 Get a walbro, there are a couple choices depending on what u wanna do with the engine in the future...

I am thinking Carb also. The air filter is clean. I do have 1, 990 on order. I have both an XB and a Dune Runner. The diaphragm is a black one but the car is only a few months old. I guess I will try the new carb on the XB. Hopefully that will do it. I appreciate all the responses and they help me learn. Thanks.

i had something similar with mine and i went through the usual filter/carb etc etc i eventually found that one of my fuel lines had touched the exhaust pipe and there was a small hole melted in it letting more air in when it got hot and it would bog down.. not saying yours may be the same but might be worth checking..

OK guys having somewhat the same problem. Check everthing like fuel lines, gas cap.

Few weeks ago oil the fillter for the first time, can I clean it with gas. Also is there some type of fillter in the stock cap?? It seems to be soked inside the rubber bulb. I phushed on it and gas keep out. So over the next few days will be working to get this problem sovled!

Motor dropping/bogging a little at topend!

What is a good ventted gas cap??

You can clean the air filter with gas or soap and water. There is no filter in the gas cap, just a vent. Search the forum for modded gas caps, there are tons of examples. Are you reading your plug as you tune?

Never heard of reading your plugs!

I have not checked the plug because it runs great but goes up and down(droping rmp's) a little at full throttle. I will clean the air filtter and maybe a better plug.

Is there a fillter in the tank?

If not I know a guy that works on nothing but chainsaws and weedeaters I will go ask him, he's the best in town!

Your plug will tell you if your tune is too lean, too rich, or just right, based on the color. To get an accurate reading, do a high speed run and quickly kill the engine. Then pull the plug and see where it's at.

Here's a link that'll help.
