On DDM site they state:
(I edited out details of oil proportions, I think I'm good on that.)
How should I break-in my Zenoah or Chung Yang RC-style engine?
DDM recommends the following break-in procedure:
Run the engine at varying speeds for periods of 3 to 10 minutes at a time. During this break-in time, NEVER go full throttle. Always let the engine idle for 30 seconds before turning it off. Allow the engine to cool off for 10 minutes before starting it again. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times - 3 or 4 full "heat cycles".
OK so this is what I have in mind but....
The break in from the Engine Owners manual that comes with the MT says: "For the first four hours, never allow the engine to run more than 5000 rpm [*I assume about when stock clutch kicks in]. Then, the engine comes to normal working."....then oil mixture to 1:30 blah blah
I'm definitely doing the "Heat Cycle" thing and just finished my second tank, but.... It seems like I should kinda do both and for the next 2-3 tanks, keep it under 5K RPM and just not heat cycle any more?
I've read some stuff on baja forums, but would like thoughts from the guys I'm getting to know and trust!
