basicly my im building a tarmac only racing truck with an MT so i can start competing in races and get the name out there!(purly because of the weight+4wd=sticks like glue, and i bloody love them!)

im planning on running a Obr 8hp reed engine with a 9500rpm clutch spring, and jetpro side mounted exhuast /w silencer, with the 1:1 ratio belt drive(i will buy a 2 speed when they finaly come out)

i know the reed engine hasnt got as much torque as others i can choose from, so thats why im choosing a 9500rpm spring to avoid the low end of the engine, and hopfully be in the powerband most of the time, my only worrys about this is, do we think the car be to "snatchy"?, and the clutch might dis-engage while using low power round corners?

im not to sure, and i cant base it on one track, as ill be going to others, im not sure what the lowest rpms people use to get round corners(or will coasting round be ok? i think it would slide out?), and im not gonna know till i get a transmitter with telemetry so its a hard call

all input, and scrutiny about any of the setup is welcome, and other ideas and combo builds,

i think im looking for more Rpms on a track? or am i wrong?

IMO I have a Reed case engine and it has heaps of torque you wont ever have to worry about that. I run a elcon 4 shoe adjustable clutch so you can set where you want to engage at. The setup you have described would be an animal to control and burn through Tyres cool.
