my fg baja runs fine for a few laps and then the rpm gets low and then it cuts out and won't start. i hav pulled out the carb and cleaned it a couple of time can any one help. yeah and when i open the gas cap it makes a hisss sound.

hi again guys i drove the baja after i passed a pin through the gas cap and blew some air into it seemed like it was slightly open now so i ran it. but again the engine ran for about 5 mts and then stopped. i tried to start it but wouldn't start so i put all the settings to zero that means put everything off then tried to pull start it with the choke on it started and cut off as usual, then iput the lsn to 1 and 1/4 and started it did start but the rpm was very hi so i increased the needle setting to 1 and 3/4 then the rpm came down a bit ran it with the hsn at 1 and 1/2 ran a bit and then died again, but in the mean time when i accelerated and braked as soon as i left the breaks the rpm jumped up every time. i have done up the carb once as it was very dusty in the beginning where i used to drive so could it be that i have put something in the carb wrongly or some thing this is a real prob, and need help i have had to start the engine bu the method i described earlier with zero settings overtime or it would not start. any ideas some expert advice needed. thanx.

will it help if i make a hole in the tank and put another pipe into it with a filter on the other end to make the tank breath better. i have seen on this forum some of the on road audis the tank has some more holes and pipes as compared to the fg which has only two coming out of it.

fuels lines are ok, and the reving when you release the brakes sounds like your throttle linkage is sticking somewhere.

well ill chk that thanx. but the vehicle brakes fine only when i release it immediately and fast does it rev up if i brake and hold for some time and then release slowly it works fine could it be that i hav put something wrong way around while ptting back the carb? like the white plastic sheet with two butterfly winglets over the hi and low needle holes in the carb? thanx.

it definately sounds like linkage hanging up, Try to lube every point of the linkage with air filter oil and make sure nothing is binding or hanging up when you operate the brakes. Sometimes when you let off the brakes the linkage will bind up and open the throttle.

hi guys wel ichange the carb to a 668 and she runs fine. then i saw a youtube guide on carb reguild and i realised that i might hav put the diaphragm upside done under the primer buld will i opened the carb and saw it to be so well could this hav been the problem. should i go back to the old carba n try to run it again. the old carb is a 813????
