I tried to play with the needles but nothing changed. When i accelerate, it will move but when i stop its still on high idle. I thought it might be that my throttle is maybe set to a little bit open but when i hit the brakes the truck stops but the idle stays high. It worked perfect the last time i drove it so i don't know what would have chaged. I remember now that it was kinda running high idle a little the last time i ran it, but not this high. Also i have a killer bee fail safe on it and the only way i can shut off the engine is to turn off the transmiter, the red button on the engine wont kill it, maybe part of the problem? Let me know what you guys think, i could get a vid up if needed. Thanks.

Did you try to richen up the low end? Generally that cures a high idle. Try to reset the needles to factory specs.

H needle - 1 1/8 turns out from closed.

L needle - 1 1/4 turns out from closed.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, start looking for damaged gaskets or seals.

I think i found the problem last night when i was looking over my truck. The carb spacer was very loose so i think it was suckin in air there which would explain why it ran better on choke than when the choke was off, it was gettting too much air. Also would explain why it was doing it the last time i ran it, since the bolts were just getting looser and looser. It was too late when i found it so i couldnt test if i fixed it. I tightened her up and ill test it today after work to see if that was the problem. Thanks.

my crazy high idle was a blown head gasket... I replaced the engine after tedious time working on it. Found one for a good deal and just did a swap...

Truck is better then ever now...

:)

My high idle was a blown head gasket also. I put a copper gasket on it and it's been running good. Check your engine for leaks around the head.
