My engine developed a missfire from mid to high rpms.

Checked the coil gap..O.K.

Changed the sparkplug.

The car starts fine.

Can the carb be cloged? haven't installed a fuel filter yet.

Can the lightweight flywheel be a problem?

What is the matter about the fuel tank not pressurizing or something?

Anyn ideas before I take everything apart?

Happens all the time, or just when the fuel tank is low?

Is it worse when the engine is cold or warm?

Missing?

Have you vented the fuel tank?

If you have fuel-air-spark, theoretically it should run providing there isn't somthing mechanical wrong.

Did you try ritchen the H up a little? Maybe it is a little colder than the past times you have ran?

Lots of stuff for you to check.

Can't say I have ever experienced anything like that.

The other day it was runnig fine and then I ran out of fuel.

After I refueled the engine started but it did not ran very well and developed the missfire.

I checked the flywheel-ignition gap and it was ok.

Today I started the car and ran it for about 2 minutes and ran ok. I stopped the car.

Then restarted and the problem started again then changed the sparkplug and the same thing continued.

What about venting the fuel tank? The car ran well the previous weekend.

Please explain.

I am going to do that first thing in the morning.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks a lot.

Well...........

I vented the fuel tank.....same thing.

Adjusted the carb....same thing.

I was taking out the carb and when I opened the air filter...................clogged

I have the billet one and the first foam was as hard as a tortilla chip.

Took the foam out and problem solved.

I was going to kick myself.

The symptons sent me in another direction but as always check the obvious first.

I am like that sometime too,the simplest things get overlooked
Good it was a simple thing. Get out and bash it.

Ugh, you guys beat me to it, I also had a missfire at high RPM's and it was right after cleaning and re-oiling my Baja air filter. Took it all apart and just used a paper towel to soak up the "extra" filter oil and she screams again. Glad you found the problem and pretty good reasoning/ evaluation of your situation, KUDOS to you!

...and Clubin, you got a pressure washer? Or is it still snowing up there. Reason being, your tires look new!

There was still snow then, unfortunately it is very dirty now. lol The snow is all gone and I was out bashing inthe yard, it looks like a giant ball of mud and dry grass. :D but that'll eventually fall off.

Heyyyyy.....hold on a second.....you DO have a pressure washer!......didn't I see your sick quad all mud????? Then PERFECTLY clean?????

Yeah, I pressure wash my Rampage at 35mph :D
