Just bought a Redcat MT and I'm having problems already. The engine idles high at start up and and when I turn the Idle screw the engine dies. Every time I start the engine I have to choke it first even if the engine has been running already and as soon as the engine starts the tires are spinnig. Could this a bad be carburetor? Can anyone help me with this?

I'll set it for ya this weekend if you come out. Also, a high idle means that the low speed is leaned in too much. You need to richen it up some to lower the idle. This would also cause you to have to use the choke on a restart since there's hardly any fuel in the engine.

Lean the low speed needle 1/8 of a turn at a time until it idles without the clutch engaging.
I meant your low speed is too lean. That's why the clutch is engaging. Don't listen to me right now, college is frying my brain.

blew head gasket

Ok thanks you guys but come to find out I blew a head gasket and that was causing the high Idles. James hooked me up with a copper gasket and I installed a walbro 990 and now it's running like a champ. :D
