how you guys doing? im looking to purchase a new engine, but i would like some heads up on what brand to go for.. i want to get a 30.5 cc. to replace a 26cc, if i can get it for cheap that would be great. the replacement if for the CENRACING 5sc or the RALLY5T. theyre both the same.
thanks.

http://oneillbrothersracing.com/rccar/itemdescription/30ccmotor.htm this is a cy29 thats had a 36mm cylinder put on, making a 30.5. iirc zenoah and cy don't build a 30.5, its a mix of 36mm cylinder and a 2mm stroker crank done in the aftermarket. this one is $239, its cheaper than the above because its not a ported motor, in theory the link posted above should be a faster motor. they go up in price from there.

is there a specific reason you want a 30.5? keep in mind that as the engine gets bigger peak rpm comes down and to make the truck perform you need to gear it higher. im not too familiar with the cen truck but id make sure you have a good selection on taller gearing before you commit to a 30.5. you may be better off with something like a 28.5 or a 27.2 thats ported.

I personally think a Zenoah 26 has better all around usable power than the Gp290.. (28.5) The Zen 26 is my favorite motor for my FG MT, but that's just my personal preference from the 4 motors I have ran in it..

oh don't discount the GP290 4bolt topend. in stock form, its only slightly slower in RPM, but has ALOT of torque with it. once modded its a pretty brutal topend.

ok what rig is this going in? and what draws you to a 30.5 for this rig?
