Anyone familiar with the timing of these 2-stroke engines? Looking at mine, at the flywheel so the engines' rotation is clockwise, the magneto begins to produce spark around "11 o'clock" (from looking at the contacts on the flywheel in relation to the pair of stationary magnets) just as the piston is reaching TDC, and will spark almost on TDC, so we can say that it's slightly advanced... Is this normal with these engines?

You can alter the timing on these engines with an off set woodruff key or an ECU.But really they are set to the best factory setting.

ignition timing is something you can play with, however if you have a stock motor there is really no point. a modded motor, higher compression, high octane race gas/alcohol, those are reasons to play with timing, however you really need to know what your doing.
