Hi all.
I bought a marder off ebay 4 weeks ago & have had no major problems until today. The engine is a 26cc zenoah and starts 2nd or 3rd crack every time. Had it out today and it cut-out and would not restart. I checked & cleaned the plug & managed to get it to fire up but then it died straight away. Could it be a faulty plug or flooded engine?

Thanks for your response. Yes plug us wet. I dried it off & tried again & it fired up but died almost straight away. I will have a read through the thread on your link & keep trying!

Hey trip. Just reading your link - am I right in saying that if the plug is wet then there is enough gas there but the plug is shot?
This car had "apparently" only been used for 2hrs so I wasnt expecting it but it came with quite a few spares and a tatty spare shell that would suggest otherwise. Maybe a new plug would be worth while anyway.

I am completely new to all this so your help is much appreciated! Will let you know how I get on!

Try your kill switch. If its half in and half out theres your problem!Might just be intermitting.Zenohas,CY engines have a tendency to have their kill switch buttons stick.

A new spark plug did the job!! Cant belive my local model shop wanted nearly £6 and I managed to get the same plug off ebay for £2.64. Robbing b@st*rds!

Glad you got it resolved. In some areas they do carry the spark plug. In our area good luck. Tons of plugs along the wall but nothing with these numbers. Always good to have a back up just in case.

It's funny how in the 5 years I've had LS I'm never fouled a plug. I ran 1 buggy with the same plug for over 3 years and the current owner may still be using the same one!!

Just having a few teething problems with buying off ebay! The guy said it had only been run for 2hrs max & tbh it did look fresh. Also had my mates approval before handing over the cash and he has been running these for 3yrs. Nothing was loctited so lost a few screws on 1st outing! I have give it a good going over & everything is as tight as it can be so will see if I can get 5yrs out of this new plug now!! Thanks for all your help in getting me running again !!

Buyer beware, lots of crooks over there. Lots of good sellers too, but you realy have to watch, the market places in these forums are the best places to buy, you can ask about any one. And get the honest truth. Loose bolts and screws are somthing that needs to always be checked, these enbines realy vibrate, and stuff does losten up. Just needs a good once over every few tanks.

There are some bad buyers too!

As for plugs, I have been running the same plug in my FG for ovwer 3 years. Still no problems, I haven't even cleaned it, I just didn't see the need. I was wondering how long it would last well, it has been many many gallons. lol
