I need some help. I just installed the big bore kit in my cy23 fulie. Before doing this the enige would start in 3-4 pulls, now I cant get it to start at all. I have spark, new fuel, seems like good compression (60psi) tested with a glow engine tester which didn't really fit that good. Everything went together exacty how it came apart. It seems like it's not getting fuel. The plug seems dry. The only issue that I had was the piston was very tight going into the bore. The old piston and bore went together much easier. I had to really oil up the new one and kind of wiggle it in. I thought maybe I damaged the ring but it should have less compression if thats the case. Any advice would be appreciated.

i have just fitted a new head on to my engine and i had to drop a little fuel down the head to get it going as it would not fire
but that did the trick just a few drops will do it

Agree with that.
Chick the fuel lines, and then start the needles as stated above and toon from their. It should be ok.

I've check everything. Fuel lines, spark plug, fuel down cyl, fuel down carb. I did notice a large accumulation of fuel in the crankcase. No sure if thats just from me trying to force feed it. I've had it aprts 4 times already. I'm pretty sure its a compression problem. I'm going to put the stock cyl and piston back on and see wat happens. As for the needle settings, what are the stock settings for the cy23? And what does 11/2 mean? 2 turns out?
thanks

Fuel in the bottom is a good sign it was flooded. Remove the spark tip upside down and pull it over. This will allow the fuel in the bottom to flow on top and come out so it will fire up. Is your plug clean (New) looking? If not use a wire brush and remove the residue. When a plug fouls it is not bad it needs to be cleaned but most of the time it is thick and hard to remove so most will discard and replace. A plug can give off a spark but not be enough to run a motor.
Good luck and keep us informed.

After pulling it apart for the 4th time i decided to reinstall the original cyl/piston and of course, it starts right up. I can feel a big difference in resistance when pulling the starter. Much more compression. There must be something wrong with the big bore kit. I'm gonna order a new kit and get myself a good compression testor so I won't waiste time trying to diagnose. I only have 18mm testers for cars and a small glow engine tester. I think these plugs are 14mm. Thanks for the help everyone. If anything I sure learned a lot about these engines!
