I picked up a used FG F1 i would prime it till bulb is half filled engine would burp put back choke pull till it start then it would die. It did this several times needle were set to factory and a new spark plug. Checked gas filter and line every thing was good, still the same issue, took carb apart put it back together still same problem. It seem like it just wasn't getting any fuel so i decided to take the carb of my sportline and try it on there. I switched the carb this carb was also set to factory know it was getting to much fuel i had to turn the low speed and high speed half a turn from close to get it to run and stay running. Then i new for shore that the other carb was no good so took of the sportline carb and put it back on the sportline then tried to start the sportline up and it wouldn't start. I wonder if i also bought bad gas or mixed to much oil in the fuel can having to much oil in fuel make engine hard to start?

i usually do 25 to 1 but my first problem was i went to buy a gallon of fuel and the nozel got stuck and i bought more than a gallon. I then tried to pour out some of the gas to what i think looked like a gallon and i had 5 oz of oil

I ordered a new carb for the f1 today and i'm going to try some fresh fuel and oil i have bin really considering switching to 32 to 1. I have never had any isuue running my other car until i mixed this fuel and oil today

Don't forget every engine is slightly different, but the default settings are LOW 1 1/4, HIGH 1 3/8 out form closed.
I used to have a G260RC in my FG MT and I needed to close slightly from these when I fitted a Walbro 813 (standard is the 603).
I now have a modified engine and I'm on 1 3/8, 1 1/2 +/-.
This is to give you a few ideas.

When an engine's not running well, check plug, spark, battery, Rx/Tx connection, carb settings, breather for the tank - generally got it covered.

Good luck.
Al.

when i did get the f1 to run and stay running both needles were half a turn from closed and it was still running rich I have never had any of my needles turned it that much before i thought that was strange

you adjust the idle screw? if you can get it to stay running with the idle screw and then start adjusting the needles you might be able to get it going right

not really, mainly it's screwed in till the engine stays running, then you adjust the low and high needles, you may have to come back to the idle, after you adjust the low, it will start to either rev higher or lower depending on the settings, it's a bit of a process but once you got it, you should be cool to go,

well my carb came today put it on and it fired right up ran half a tank before it started to rain this thing is fast great acceleration. This was my first run, i think i will be putting walbro 668 carbs on all my cars. My previous carb was a 603 and my other is a 803
