Ok I just rebuilt my cy 26 fuelie with a big bore kit. It ran fine first day out went to run it yesterday with my nephew and it ran great for a while the I spun out hit the throttle and it just died and won't start back up. I did the gas tank vent modification already, the plug is perfect color of light brown and I am getting spark but I'm not sure if it is enough of a spark. I pulled the carb off and cleaned it out it is a 813 carb , I checked the coil gap its fine I am stumped.

I did do the vent on the tank. When I pulled the plug it was not wet. I am thinking a weak coil when I was running it it was 100 deg outside with 95% humidity. I think I overheated the coil.

Ok I tried to put a little gas oil mixture in the spark plug hole and nothing still wouldn't start . So i also tried to put oil in the spark plug hole to check the compression when I did it and put the plug back in I nearly threw my shoulder out trying to pull start it, it would not budge until I got the oil out by taking the plug out and pull starting it.

couple months ago mine wouldnt start..it was geting spark but not enought..problem was the coil magnets was dirty..sanded them and it fired right up on the first pull..try that

gas cap mod

my xb had the common gas cap problem, here is my fix. Inside the gas cap is a flat, round piece of rubber. This acts as a one way valve, the rubber is too thick. I removed this valve -wet the pin before i removed as to not destory the thing, laid down a fresh sheet of 230 grit general purpose sand paper and slowly sanded a taper on the non sealing side of the valve, left the pin area alone- sanded to a thin approx 1/2 mm on the outside edge, all the way around, Then-doubled the holes on the part this rubber valve fits to used a .042 bit, drill from the sealing side inwards, with a fresh x-zato blade, cut the raised plastic around the holes flush, then melted the hole in the rubber dome very slightly, opened the gas caps hole a wee bit- and wa-la - no more lean condition, and no hose required. This rubber valve i sanded- its a common part on certan weedeaters and also used as a crank case vent on 4 stroke weed eaters- automobile carbs- ect-ect, Try at your own risk- if you mess it up? use the hose method. I am new to this forum- i hope it posts in the correct place!
