i just foiund out that the lepard i have is not running as quick as i thought it should , it runs good now its had clean up but when i brought it it was sold as having 26 cc zenoah engine well if im right in thinking that how they came as standard with 26 cc engine , well this a 23cc on it , i found out by emailing some people and on here too so im none to happy that at some point it was swapped over. so now im looking to try to get it as it should be with right engine on it that bit more power will make al lthe differance i think,
one thing it dose well though is out manover the baja my son now uses at cornering by a heck of a lot , can almost turn on a sixpence as the saying gose , reason for this message is if your going to buy second hand try and see it before you do and make sure it is as stated in the ad , other than that its going to be one heck of a truck by the time ive got it how it should be ;)

The older versions of the FGs came with the 23cc engines. You may just have an older version and it came standard with the 23 engine at the time. Fg used to use Solo engines and then switched to zenoah and started with the 23s in all vehicles. It was probably not until about 6 years ago that they started putting in the 26s in the off-roads. The 23s have more rpm so they can give you a little more top speed(hence why they are still in the on-roads).

The leopard was FG's racing buggy before they moved to the baja. The leopard was my second favorate large scale I owned. The first was my monster beetles.

It is hard to tell how old your leopard is as they have not changed anything on them in quite some time.

agree with above, just coz its a slighly smaller capacity doesn't mean its any slower, the 23's rev more and in most cases can out accelerate a stock 26.

if need be just get a big bore kit ....biggest 2 bolt zen is the 25.4cc(26cc)

but the cy big bore kits go bigger up to 30.5cc with a +2mm crank

lepard engines

thanks for all the replys to what i wrote ,i know its a preowned car i have but it was advertised as having a 26cc motor in it and having looked at it since it was deliverd it is 23cc that was the main reason for the post i know the extra 3cc don't sound a lot but my sons fg baja really leaves this standing it almost unreal to see by how much , it could need re ringing as mentioned which is a good point , just that if its advetiised as having 26cc then that is what it should come with surly

The one thing to check is if it is the brand that was advertised. If its a true Zenoah then just upgrade your top end to a 26 and you will love it once again.
Before you rering I would remove the top end and check to make sure the inside of the head looks ok. If it was not taken care of, it may have some wear that a new ring will not help.
