Just come across this on ebay, item number 220714954782

A Contrast Fuego.. just spoke to a mate about them now and he says they're a really good car and only ever really seen on the track! :cup-1: I've been around RC for donkey's years and never come across one until now. Looks expensive too!! No way I'd pay £1400 for an RC car though

Contrast are from a Spanish manufacturer and are an out and out race car. They do on road and off road cars. The dealer in this country is Mark Grant - a decent bloke, have a look at www.contrast-racing.co.uk (might miss off the - i'm not sure)
The car you're looking at is top spec and worth the money for racing and you'll get good back up should you need it. Ian Oddie won the UK and European championship with this model (this isn't his though).

Hope this helps

Mike

p.s
They the only manufacturer I've used that will listen to and sometimes act on improvements you tell them.

thanks for the info! i was just browsing on ebay at FG items and it was listed there, as soon as i clapped eyes on it i knew it was something special. oh well, if i was racing seriously and had pots of money then no doubt i'd plum for something like that :) it was just an interesting find i thought, and wondered if many people knew about them.
thanks mike

I just has a look, and they do an on-road car for about £2400, oh and you have to provide your own shell, engine and radio!!!!

but I bet it goes like stink!

CHE-CHING!!! i think i'd want a very generous sponser for that sort of thing :)

and yep, i bet it does go like the clappers n all, ha!

prices for the fuego 2011 are

Full Kit Inc Engine, Brakes, Oddie Exhaust. £1888.62
Full Kit No Engine £1684.44
Kit No Engine & Front Brakes £1569.28

These are available from 1st Feb 2011

The car Joe Selwa has is the 2009 version, the 2010 car quite considerably changed but the 2011 version only has 2 parts (engine & diff mount) that have been changed and the pipe is different, not a major issue if you can get one for decent money. The idea behind the pipe is to get weight over the arse end but the pipe by Meileke is alluminium so although it will be a good pipe a heavier samba pipe might be more effective.

Yes I have Ian's old racer along with my Elcon Cleon's it's a nice buggy to have. I'd look around in your area. Racers sell off their buggies and get newer ones all the time. You can get some nice ones that start around $500GBP's
