Exhaust Manifold Removal/Installation

I'm trying to figure out how you remove the exhaust manifold from the engine. I see the two screws that hold it in but I can't figure out how to remove them. It doesn't look like you can use a flat head or phillips screw drive to remove them. Could someone enlighten me?

you will need a hex wrench in the back of the screw.

I had the same moment when I mounted the header for the pipe, there's no clearance to get to the hex screw behind the bend. Someone suggested getting a cheepo set of hex wrenches, and cutting one off. Duh.
