Exhaust port timing?

Do most of you strong engine builders set your exhaust port timing at 180 degrees?


I run 100 LL octane fuel always so I was thinking of dropping the cylinder by about .030" for more squish, What are some of you other engine builders doing?

I have a question related to porting...


Will changing the porting effect when the motor "gets on the pipe"?

Yes it can make it earlier or later depending on how you do it most generally it is later in RPM but way more violent after porting
