Ive had my fg mt for one hole weekend know and ive already replaced parted and upgraded :

FG samba pipe ordered
Fg hub broke so ive ordered a new one.
failsafe ordered as i think its needed on a 5thscale.

thats a toatal off £230 :w00t:

hiya mate :)

aye it can be expensive, but for an FG Monster there are some essential hop-ups you wanna do asap to make it bashable..

Alloy hubs (Defo on the front & if funds allow on the rear too) the stock front ones are weak & you will be replacing them many times due to stripping!
Alloy Rear upper A-Arms
Alloy Rear Shock mount
Steel gears (Pinion & Spur)
Alloy Radio Tray / Servo Horns
Outerwears for pullstart & Air Filter

That lot will prob set you back a further £150-200. But well worth it as you wont have to worry so much about parts breaking when your out :)

To be honest ive had my FG MB Pro for about 5-6 years now, up until last year it was pretty much stock except for steel gears & alloy servo horns! yup i did bash it & yup it's had a fair few bumps! ...but last year a few things started to give.. I bought 1 alloy hop-up..follwed by another & then another.

Best thing to do, if a stock part breaks, replace with alloy :) ...downside to this is it don't help when it brakes when your out! ..so i just went ahead & started hopping up wit alloy with more important parts 1st :)

thanks pal for the info well know im in to minds as my hub has packed in so i don't know weather to get a replacement or just buy two alloy sets for the front lol ive already ordered a samba pipe killer be switch and the plastic hub but i might cancel that order and get the alloy onces. these are pretty solid man ive been jumping it today and ive not broken anything the hubs holiding up pretty good still very suprised with that ;) RESULT.

get the hubs dude, remember that with a tuned pipe = more power & speed so more strain on parts!

If funds are tight just get the front ones for now as the rear stock hubs are pretty solid, the front ones though take a beating so alloy is a must \o/

theres usually plenty on ebay, jus make sure you get right ones! :)

here u go:

Front Hubs: http://www.pitstop-shop.nl/nl/dept_122.html#item_9867 Prob be about £80 with shipping

Rears: Hobbythek about £56 with shipping

well funds are pretty tight at the moment so ill just get the replacement part for know but there on my list for sure soo as i get abit off money rasied im already upgrading parts without knowing it :w00t: i doute ill be getting the rear once as i don't see the point more strain is on the front but its always good to i suppose, thats pretty cheap for 80 shipped as im checking an there like over £100 im keeping my eyes on them ;)

aye don't think you gunna find new ones with shipping cheaper anywhere else dude, hobbythek & pitstop are prob the 2 cheapest places to buy new FG parts from & shipping from hobbythek takes 3 days which is faster postage than UK usually! lol :)

ill be looking into this i mite just end up buying the hubs from hobbythek is this some sort off clearance offer or is it always up.

welcome to large scale LOL.

the MT is the best rc ive ever had, you don't need too much to make them reliable, get some limiting straps and the hubs arnt too much of a problem

your yellow beast look's great, yeh so far i think its the best rc for me this car is well tuff durable, my god there fast... well a new hub is on its way ill get some limiting straps see how they go thanks pal.

no worries, i don't have the yellow beetle anymore, swapped it for a HPI 5B SS and regretted it ever since, got rid of it 2 weeks after the swap LOL.

now I have a 4WD fg baja and a all alloy elcon fg 2WD

You don't seem to have mentioned the alloy engine mounts - permits better and more secure location of the engine.
Many like to add servo tray supports or replace the tray with an alloy or carbon fibre one.
The list is endless.
Many people say that they wait until they NEED to replace a part - wear or accident - and use it as an excuse for an upgrade.
