Got my eye on two large scales witch im tempted on buying and selling on as a quick profit seen as im no longer bringing in a wage ;(
My question to you guys is what are used marder/buggies worth in the UK market both cars are from different sellers and i think there at a good price but seen as im buying to slog off i need expert opinion!

Car number one (FG MARDER) comes with the following, remember both cars are in working condition.

29cc bore kit fittedsamba tuned exhaust
weibro carb
futaba 40mhz radio
twin metal geared steering servos
genuine fg aluminium engine mounts, big and small
ngk plug and cap
new spur gears

His asking for £250 but im going to throw in a cheeky offer off £200? sensible?

Car number two, (fg marder with a bettle body) this seems like a genuine car to me ive seen the car in the flesh, its in very good condition not been used alot.

Following spec!
zenoah 26cc motor
alloy back hubs and wishbone arms
alloy diff housing
metal gearing
alloy wing.

There is a few hop ups ive missed not knowing the full spec off the car but ill ask him next time i seen him, his asking for £250 but ive knocked him down and done a deal at £220 including everything?

Ill try get some pictures soon.

Marders are out of favour at the moment so are a used bargain. I see the market as £200-250 gets you a rough example or project car, £250-£300 gets you a decent usable example and £300-£350 gets you a mint example. Anything over £350 is either something special or over priced - IMO of course!!

The beetle is holding its value slightly better but I would put only £25-50 on the above prices.

The FG MT will always be popular so if you could convert a cheap marder to a monster truck you could make a tidy profit.

The market is leaning towards the HPI style baja's and 5T's at the moment with KM picking up a big share hence the drop in the price of the marder. Its a great starter car tho and is uber reliable if looked after.

Do you have a link to the cars you are thinking of buying?
The marder I would say go for it. If you get it for £250 or less you should turn a small profit with the 29cc and samba.

Beetle would be a good buy at £220. With both the engines need to be solid and have good compression. The rest can be sorted easy enough.

If the body shell is tatty get a new fibreglass body shell at less than £30 & sticker it up & it will put £100 on the price!!

You could possibly make an extra £30 or so if you bought a 23cc off ebay for the marder & sold the 29cc separately........just a thought!!

That is how I see the market, others may have a different opinion so don't just base it on me!! The beetle looks well worth the money & if you get it for £220 you should make £100 on it easy. Nice find
