Bought some Tygon line at the saw shop - 99 cents per foot, I could hardly pull any air tru the felt filter. The XB has sat with a bone dry tank for several weeks- perhaps the Klotz has gummed up? Soo- I am installing a Large unfiltered Clunk- Du-Bro # 838. just outside of the fuel tank the Du-Bro Final Filter #162 will be spliced in-line. This is a 130 micron Polyester mesh- ya clean it by back flushing. Another option to this set up is to put a large slintered bronze Do-Bro filter in the tank- have no part # for this- search Du-Bro to find it.- As for installing the Tygon, leave the black rubber plug on the tank- smear a lite film of silicone diff fluid - shock oil on the fuel line, as you push the line from the outside -to the inside of the tank- stick your long finger tru the fuel tank fill hole and support the underside of the black rubber fitting so you do not split this rubber fitting or shove it into the gas tank. This has gotta be an improvement- we will put it to the acid test just sa soon as it warms up in Eastern Oregon.

Here is a photograph of the Du-Bro Slintered Bronze filter- Part # 161.

Check your fuel filter!!

I took the razor knife to the felt -removed it and still could barely suck air tru the line, soo- this ruled out the gummed up klotz idea posted above. soo- I razor knifed the nylon? you see in the 2nd photograph. yes, this cylnder is too tight. Wrecked the felt to know this- no big deal . I urge anyone with a clunk-felt filter to check and see if they are at risk of emptying the primer bulb and be going lean --- seize-o- matic- hurts!
