Just got an MT and loving it. Makes my XT look like a toy!! I have a few problems I need to tap into the brains of my fellow Rampers for.

1. Landed bad on a jump and stock rollcage flexed to much braking the sparkplug. :( (lucky I had a spare:)) Will the aluminum rollcage not allow as much flex?

2. I have had the wheel nuts back off twice and fall off causing some funny/fustrating moments. Watching the wheel racing the truck was just priceless. Lucky me found them each time though. Anyone else had this happen and how did you prevent?

3. We need to start a Rampers addict club. I swear every time I floor it I just want to do it more and more:D!!!!

The aluminum cage should help. You could also get one of these. I have one on my MT. It's beefy and provides great protection for the spark plug.

As far as the wheel falling off, you can use Baja wheel nuts. Or just use some blue thread locker.

I thought the baja wheel nuts were slightly larger. Just being curious what makes them better? Will the blue thread lock make it hard to take them off?

The aluminum roll cage is nice but it has spots that are known to brake on it. Best bet is to get the hoop or make a cage or have someone make a cage for you.

Do the Rampage nuts have a slotted side that makes contact with the rim. The HPI ones do, which causes them to dig in to the plastic and prevent them from backing off.

Like Deluge and booggieman2u said, the blue thread locker will add additional resistance.

One day I will make some longer threaded hubs to allow for a retaining pin to prevent the problem for once and for all. That day may have to be after getting a machine shop though...

My friend that was with me had that same idea!

Guess that will be just another job for the wonderful loctite!!!

Ever feel like loctite is like duct tap for the r/c world....lol

Thanks everyone for the tips and suggestions!

the fastest easiest way to replace those pins is to find an old drill bit of the size and cut it to length. it will work as well as anything and you usually have one on hand.
