release in late March
$325 is a good price but you'll still need another steering servo and front diff, an alloy conversion would be real pricey the alloy front diff enclosure is $500+ alone.
FG have priced this at the masses and it's less than the kamicrappo conversion...I'm sure we'll see alot of 4x4 fg's later this year.

A full RTR is about $960 which is amazing. I think they plan on killing off the 2wd. I wonder if they plan on releasing a kit without radio, batter, servos, ect.

Looking at the front hubs anyone with disc brakes will be in trouble....if I had the option and wanted 4WD I would probably save up for the alloy competition conversion (if they made one)....although I just got an insurance payout today..competition model...mmm..! lol

interesting that the monster models are now only one shock...wonder what shock oil they put in their?? or how stiff the springs are??
See that bug body...loks sweet..love the rear wing!!!

In the pic it shows all the parts you get laying there and I don't see a diff, however they claim all parts necessary to convert to 4wd so maybe they include a stock diff which are crap so you'd still need an alloy diff.
Knowing FG though if it isn't in the picture then it isn't in the kit, all the specialised 4wd parts are there which are the bits you need to convert, you need 2 servos but you wont get an extra one of those in the kit either. I'll shoot an email to hobbythek and see what they say.

Nice one mooman.. Am thinking its got to have a front diff for the belt to go round..?
Why do you have to have 2 servos for sterring as most other 1/5 4wds get away with 1..?

That's what FG say is needed to steer it, the comp models are always pictured with 2 rhino digi4's, one would probably steer it initially but not be able to hold it under power. I believe lauts, hurrax and mcd have 2 also and the rampage needs 2 (just dualed mine now it will steer) don't know about the titan

Hobbythek emailed me back with some answers re: diff, servos and fitting of calipers to the uprights...gotta love these guys service, here it is

Hello Julian,

thank you for your enquiry. According to the FG exploded view of the conversion kit it will come with a plastic differential also on the front.

We would recommend to use 2 sterring servos. But we don't know yet what FG recommends in this matter.

As far as we know the part no. 66270 (alloy uprights of Competition 4WD) should also fit.

Best regards

Viktor Marz

Would still love to know if there will be a alloy convertion kit..I would be very intrested in that.

Thanks again Mooman, for quick response and thanks Hobytec for being on the ball....

I'm running a single heavy duty servo on my steering for now. I've looked at the brochure and there seems to be a new steering servo saver. I wonder if we're not going to be able to use a single servo anymore and that's why they say we'll need an additional servo. The existing servo saver bolts through the bottom chassis plate. With the belt drive running down the plate now, I don't see the old servo saver working anymore. I hope the new one is strong enough.

Same servo saver, an you can use 1 good servo. What they did was flip the saver upside down and it mounts to the radio tray and front brace rather than the chassis since the belt goes down the center. I was wondering why they had 2 servos in the comp vesion and though the same thing until I built one and then saw the RTR's with one servo. :clown:
