What engine are you guys running in your 4wd fg or any other 4wd 1/5 scale?
My current engine is a zen with a 28.5 head kit, looking for more speed and power but nothing that will trash my driveline. Price range between 400 and 500 and does a long rod offer more bottom end.Thanks
 
Mine has a 26.9 ddm ported head kit on at the min and it goes well with that in but ive just picked up a new stage 2 stevo race engine for it. Stevo reckons the drive train will handle it easily. Mike1970 runs an Oddified race engine in his leopard which is prooving reliable in the race series and the fuel economy is better in the race engines. I was out with renbar last year and my ddm ran out of fuel before his oddified even though he had loads more power.

With your budget there are plenty of options. You could go with an OBR 8hp monster or have a stage 2 race engine build that will be equally as quick. It depend what power delivery you want.
