Hello All.
I have a conundrum. I am building a car mentioned above, and I want to rally it in dirt, due to the completely sealed drive train ( the sput/pinion will be covered by me). Now, the question is tire choice. I have 2 alternatives if I want to have anything resembles to grip. Use an adapter, to mount 17mm hex buggy wheels with knobby tires on it (same diameter as the standard wheel), with some hard compound and nice tread pattern, or I go ahead, and CNC mill some of my existing wheels to have something that resembles to dirt tread pattern? I am kinda biased towards the buggy wheels, because the narrower wheel make the car look more scale, butt the lifespan of the tires under a 10kg car, and 6kW motor is questionable at best. Thoughts?

Thoughts?
Yeah , I am a CNC guy and always want to see what everyone is doing. You are talking about CNC'ing a tread pattern on a tire , not an actual wheel? Correct??
My only thought is any hex adapter moves the wheel out and the farther out the wheel is from the suspension and steering puts more stress on the suspension parts.

Hey there. Yes, I am talking about milling the tread pattern into the tire, grooves and whatnot. The ex adapter would move the wheel out by about 5-10mm, and that is something I can live with. This is an onroad FG, so no jumping, no bashing, just some whizzing around. essentially I would use it in dirt. I found already the wheels: https://sgmodell.hu/Hobbytech-1-8-Rallycross-buggy-kerek-4db-feher So this is 8.th scale rallycross wheels. If this don't work out, then out comes the CNC mill :D
