Received my alms bmw m3 body yesterday and applied the liquid mask. The chassis this is goi on is from a fg 530 Benz. I was quite surprised and glad the the holes were pre drilled however to my surprise the holes don’t line up. As a matter of fact is took my body brace off my 510 chassis and lined up the holes and they match up perfect.
Even the trunk holes are a bit off and need to be reammed. But the sides if a complete different story.
I also just realized that the side body mounts may be adjustable in the sense that they can be moved closer in. Maybe that’s the option but it now means that when changing bodies I have to move the mounts .
Has anyone else had this issue.
Thanks again
Cheers.

Hello Benjamin,
you will only have to move the side body mounts you will have the right holes in your chassis. If you will look you will find there 3 holes by the older chassis or 4 by the latest sportsline chassis.
Best regards
Wolle

Thanks for the response. I did change their position and it’s the intended fit for the alms m3 body. What I intend to do now is just put fresh holes in the corvette body sewing that it’s no longe my favorite.
Cheers.

963958CF-B9BB-47B1-9DD0-7E1AC44D79D9.webp Ok so instead of starting another thread I’ll use this one to shear my journey with the prepping and painting of this body.
Now this is my first real paint job which took 3days to complete.
Things to note when preparing your new lexan.
1. Always clean the surface with soap and just before painting I used denatured alcohol.
2. I have read where people scuff their bodies and this is said to help the paint adhesion. I’ll say NO NO NO because it shows when complete.
3. Paint used was spaz sticks chrome/candy/silver.
4. When completed I used mini wax clear coat.

Chrome : I did use heat gun for every layer and this works due to the fact that chrome must be kept at a high temp for the mirror effect to be perfect.
So here it goes. Any questions feel free to ask.
The first picture shows the concept I decided to work with.
Enjoy.
Cheers.

The final phase. It’s not perfect because you can still see the scuff marks which in my opinion was not needed.
I also installed a locking rear diff and the tunning disk in the front and rear.
