Hi All,

I'm really keen on the FG baja but I don't know which version I should get - the 2 wheel drive or the 4 wheel drive!

Could I please have some opinions of what you think?

What advantages are there of 4WD over 2WD and vice-versa?

Does the 2WD version tend to wheelie alot? I probably wouldn't want this.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Thanks.

2wd
weelies alot
back end out alot
some marder vids look sweet

4wd
good traction
can be converted to 2wd
understeer at full throttle when turning

both have good and bad points, i went with the 4x4 though

im on the other side i run 2wd and love every second of it just as quick if not quicker as long as it grips thats when you want the 4wd but youve got more to go wrong twice the drive ect

For handling 4wd would be better but they still do wheelies and have under-steer mine is sitting on the shelf

I got my self a nutechracing mega monster pro racer,no under-steer no pulling wheelies.
All 4 wheels stay on the grounds where they are supposed to be.

or you could get your self the redcat v3 i don't have much experience with them.
Not saying you should buy one just giving you other options.

Thanks guys.

Tough decision.......! Will have a look round and see what deals are available.

Maybe I should get both.......(I'll keep dreaming!)

Cheers.

Saw a 4wd MCD racing with a 2wd HPI 5b at the rossmods track yesterday and there wasnt much in it. If anything the 2wd 'looked' more impressive with the tail out round the corners :cool2:

Theres a reason why they separate the 2wd and 4wd at any major racing event...It's so the people with 2wd have a reason to show up...You can buy a 2wd and wish you bought a 4wd or buy a 4wd and take the dogbones out the front and you got a 2wd...

Racing - 4WD
Fun - 2WD

4WD's are easier to drive & get used to.. point & go attitude, which is why i find 2WD's more fun \o/

if your planning on racing, then id go for the 4WD, if your planning on bashing/jumping & tearing up your local park etc.. 2WD is your best option.

:)

ill tell you soon, ill be paying for a 4WD FG Baja today or tommorow.

ive got a rwd FG MT and its wheelie city, fun to bash with but you gotta go easy around corners or it'll spin.

do u want to do track work or just bash?

if u can afford the 4WD id get it coz you can convert to RWD cheap enough (very expensive converting RWD to 4WD) and wheelies get tiring and expensive quick!
