Hello newbie to rc cars got a fg Baja buggy with a slight problem, it fires up on first pull wheels turn( steering)but it doesn't go when I push forward on the controller, revs fine when I do it manually any ideas.

welcome to the forum!
Is the throttle servo dead (does it move when you move controller) or is throttle linkage loose?

As dwarfy said dude, either throttle linkage loose or servo dead or dodgy reciever/loose wire connector, look at the servo head where the horn is, does this move when you push forward on the controller? if it does then its ya throttle linkage. If it doesn't then its ya servo or could be the reciever is faulty.

to be honest mate with the engine off you should hear the sound of the servo when you push forward on ya transmitter if you don't then what id do is unplug the steering servo from ya reciever & plug the throttle servo into it instead then try it, if still nothing = dead servo, if you get something then its faulty reciever.

g/luck dude

Thanks for the quick reply, no movement whatsoever so I'm guessing it's the servo. I'll get a new one at the weekend, I'll let you know how I get on. Just itching to have a play! Cheers people! Wicked site by the way!

As Daz says, just check the wiring back to the receiver and make sure the plug is also fitted into the receiver properly. Take it out & refit to be sure before you go shelling out on a new 1 ;)

swap your throttle servo connections round with your steering ones...if steering does not move when throttle is moved then its your reciever .
just narrowing it down for you...

Right, all of you were spot on it was a servo. New one fitted today, got some wheels, she is mint now, all in perfect working order just need to tweak the front right disc brake. Being a bad boy and blowing out work tomorrow so I can have a play. Feel like a kid at Christmas. Thanks to all the people who helped meout
