i don't know first hand if there's a kit, cerntainly not one made by FG but BSD are about to release one, specs look impressive. The only shop I know that is going to get them around my area is oversizerc. maybe good BSD and see what you can find.

Hi naftausa i did quick search on google and a few kits came up but they are not very good at all. I have done quite a bit with brushless and when you see a kit for $400 including motor and speedy you just know that it wont do the job. I would most likely say that you will need to design and build your own motor mount. As for motors you will be looking for something in the 2200 family from NEU motors. Speedy wise i would recommend cast creations. They have a couple of plane and boat speedys that you could use (the ice and ice HV range) but you will need to run a pistix and mechanical brake. You could also wait for the car version to come out that will be in a couple of months. There are other speedys from schulze but they are a lot more expensive and the warranty is not as good. the only batteries i would bother running at the moment are hyperions. The are not the cheapest pack on the marked but they are very good. Stay away from maxamps and anything with Zippy written on it. Setup wise check out he baja formus and rc-monster.com forum. A few guys on both of these have done converisons on their bajas and you would be able to copy their motor speedy combos. I am sure someone has done a FG Monster as well, its worth the look around.

sperera have u a link for bsd kit? i can't find it

ANGRYEVO8 for the motor i choose Plettenberg Bolido, 6s lipo powered.

for esc i was thinking about schulze, but they cost like the hell.....

The plettenburg Bolido is an excellent motor i have both the maxximum and big maxximum for my 1/8 truggys. I would suggest getting them from icare-rc i have found that he is the cheapest and also sells schulze controllers. You will need good quality batteries and you will not find better than the new hyperion 45C G3 batteries. Yoiu should try allerc.com for them.

As far as the speed controllers go schulze are very good and takes alot to kill one but they are very expensive and the warranty is sketchy. A few friends of mine have had them fail and they refused the warranty because they left the wires too long. The programming is also very very basic. Ther are no throttly or brake curve adjustments, and you cant adjust the braking amount. Castle, on the other hand have one of the best warranties i have ever seen in RC. As long as the batteries are good enough to supply the minimum amount of amps and you are not geared too high, (if not just lie on the form) than they will cover the controller under warranty. You will need to post it to them and they will pay for the return postage. If you are out of warranty than you pay moderate repair fee, unlike companies like schulze and MGM who make you pay half the price of a new controller.
Castle controllers are also very programmable and extrememly smooth. The new ice range also has data logging capability built in. They are also half the price. There will be one coming out in the next couple of months specifically for cars that is high voltage and has data logging built in. If you don't want to wait i would suggest the castle phoenix ICE HV and a pistix.

i don't have anything mate, go to oversizerc.com and send them an email, if you ever get a response, they might know what you need. had a mate talking to them about it recently and the seem to know a fair bit on it so maybe worth a try.

Hey Naftausa here is a link to a build thread of a brushless baja, it might help you out to see what other people are doing it is also a brushless dedicated forum so there are a lot of people with heaps of knowledge there.
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27883
There is also a dedicated section in the hpi baja forum that is for brushless conversions as well

heres a few more that might help

ANGRYEVO8 thank u, links u post are however very good. Thank U!

what do u think about a mamba monster? max 6s capable (that it's enough for me) and it's very strong... i use it on my truggy and buggy... never a fail...

i choose bolido cause i know plettenberg quality, i also have the bigmaxximum... simply THE brushless motor.

Bolido i hope will be like minor brother...

for lipos... i have all hyperion packs.. 3s and 4s for my truggy/buggy... very good for me..

i'll like to try new 45C packs, maybe for this project will be better...

just a question.. but castle esc... like ice Hv have brake options? they arent for flying models??

i sell my eagle three (damn!) so i need a built in log to see what really happens...

talk to me of new esc by castle for cars..... i'm interested... here no news availble regarding that...

schulze are also too big... and expensive...

i try to contact onefive.de twice in this days, but no reply yet.

thank u again...

Schulze are expensive but on a 1/5 car the size is not the problem, its the lack of tuning that really lets them down. The castle ICE HV controllers are for flying yes, and so will not have a brake option but can be used in a car. You will need a PISTIX so that you can use a normal pistol grip radio with it and a mechanical brake setup. A mechanical brake setup is better anyway as its the braking where most speed controllers fail due to the heat and amp spikes it creates. If you are converting a COMP fg baja than you should already have good brakes on the car. You will need a Y harness to connect the brake servos to channel 3 on the receiver and a radio capable of channel mixing so that when you apply the brake on the remote, the TX also uses channel 3 to apply the brakes.
There are a lot of people using the ICE HV 160 to convert HPI BAJA and are running large 22XX series motors on 8-12s so for your applications it should not have a problem at all. There is a lot of info on the castle website, castlecreations.com about their speed controllers and the data logging capabilities.

As i said previously there is a car version of the ICE HV coming out in the next few months. I would not recommend the monster for this task. The amp draw on the Bolido especially in a car that is as heavy as a comp baja will turn a MMM into ash in a matter of seconds. I have two 45c hyperion packs and they are fantastic. The one thing that i noticed is the drop in temps on the motor just from changing packs.

Here is a link to a forum about the HV car speed controller that is coming out.

If you don't want to wait i would just use the ICE HV that is out now and a mechanical brake setup. If you are worried about 160A not being enough they also make a 8s 200A speed controller in the same line. ie Phoenix ICE 200, more info on the website. Take another look at the larger NEU motors they are of similar quality to Plettenburg but are cheaper and better warranty. http://neumotors.com/Site/Motors.html and http://neumotors.com/Site/2200_series.html
