HI I got a odd popping noise I just can not fighure out. When I over small or large jump with my fg baja I am getting a popping noise when the the car lands. Almost sounds like gears not messing correct or something. I checked all the gears and they look like new still. I checked all bolts for looseness. I have check the noise with the body off and on, no difference. Just not sure. anyone had this happen?

Are you sure its the drive train? Could it have something to do with the suspension maybe?
I've heard my clutch bell toll before but not pop.

Sounds like youre gonna need to shim the diffs........hard braking kills diffs faster than overpowered engines thats why i always set my brakes to the bearest minimum that I need to slow it to a stop...Alot like that stop on a dime power but that comes at a price on certain vehicles..........

To ensure it is not a drivetrain issue take the model and point it into the wall or other non moving object. Hold it down and give it gas. You should hear the popping if its gears. You will hear it slip if its grubs. You will hear nothing if its suspension. ;)

Check your engine mounts. If they are plastic they could have moved slightly, enough to make your layshaft gear slip on the diff gear. In my case the large mount had completely broken in half and at first it didnt slip all the time - maybe like yours. Ended up needing a new layshaft gear.
