hello there fairly new to fg and have a baja it needed new clutch
wich i have put in
went to try it out and all was ok but it when started was already engaging the wheels to spin on start up but ran it for around half hour then smoke from clutch stopped it running straight away any ideasasto why that would happen haven't looked at state of the clutch yet as to hot to touch . would welcome any ideas on this thanks :blink:

have had car clutch apart nothing wrong in there but re adjusted the mixing screws to stop wheels spining on start up which it has worked test run car in garden to much garden but ideal for this , seems to be ok and when yo ure4lease trigger it stops unlike before , (engine keeps running ),not sure what i did other than adjust mixing screws , im new to this large sclae cars was into flying helis but to expensive when you hit the ground thanks for all replies ill get some pics of car on here see what you think. is there any large scale clubs around lincs north or donny way on thanks :drool:
 
hmmm this ones got me cuirious, even a standard clutch spring wont enguage unless the revs are reasonably high, so either you had the idle over 5K or the spring wasnt installed properly.
 
As Sperera's saying, the standard clutch spring on the standard clutch is supposed to engage at +/-6k rpm. The 'modified' spring is higher at ~8k.

Are you sure your idle isn't too high?

If the idle screw appears OK, it might be that your mixture's too lean on the low - this will raise the idle.

If not ... fecked clutch spring!

Is it binding? Should be able to spin the clutch bell - with the engine OFF of course!!!!

by the looks of it from what yo uhave said here the idle was to high i have alterd that now and seems to be running fine just to get out and test it proper. thanks for all you replys regaurding this

For mixture, as everyone tells you here, better slightly rich, and to keep the engine lubricated, than too lean.
