In the 1st photo it looks like the rod could be bent before it goes into the rod slide. Make sure it straight or it may bind.
Get yourself a rubber boot to cover the top of the switch. You can make one out of a balloon or buy one.

You can find them on ebay also.

See if there is an optional alloy servo horn for your model servo. It will help in the flex when you go to brake.

In the second photo, most people will not use a spring because there is too much movement. Using a piece of silicone or preferably nitro line is the best.
Here is a generic photo that shows what I mean:

In the third photo, I think I see the brake rod is bent. It should be straight and you can adjust it slightly by moving it back and forth to change its length and tightening the screw on the top.

I cant help but to recommend away from using that filter for off road use. Not one of the filters I have heard good things about specially if you run it bare like you show.

Good luck.. Great photos!

Good advise on the filter. I have the same as you so rather than spend on a replacement std filter set I just bought 1 of these pre filters & oil to keep costs to a minimum. Its a good snug fit & does the job.

I did enquire about an outerwares cover as well & they advised it wasnt necessary with 1 of these (these guys race FG's) but some on here run both. Its down to your preference.
