FG F1 Newbie

Hello all, as some of you may have seen my wanted post you may know i was after a F1, today i walked in to my local hobby shop and there hanging from the ceiling was a F1 in Ferrari colour's, i just couldn't believe my luck . After a chat about it he told me his father had built it a couple of years ago but never ran it, the rubber has never touched tarmac! We then spoke about price, haggled alot as it was steep at first but have done a part ex with my FG porsche and some cash. The car has a solo engine, so could anybody give me an idea of what year this could be? I am picking it up monday if all goes well so will post pics then. Also is there any info i should know about them? Any good Mods? and where is the best place for Parts/Upgrades? Sorry for all the questions :lol: Thanks Oliver

I think it was a choice of either a Solo or Zen until around 2003+/-.
They used Solo alot.

solo engines rock. don't sell it short. I have had my solo for years. this year I finally pulled the head off and changed the ring though it ran fine with the old one. I have never changed the spark plug even. and it runs a lot. keeps up with modded motors too. the solo is discontinued but still plenty of parts around. just rememnber parts for it are expensive... hey it's made in germany. you can tell a lot by the serial number. that will tell you when it was made. right near the kill switch. they number each motor out of production. I had 2 that were less than 100 apart
